Waiver Option

If eligible, you have the option to waive your District medical/prescription benefits in return for a cash payment. This waiver option offers flexibility in creating your own personalized package of benefits. If you have access to medical/prescription beenfits elsewhere (e.g., through your spouse's employer plan), you may be eligible; see below waiver form for details. Note: your waiver payment is considered taxable income.

If you lose coverage from the alternative source, you can immediately enroll in our District plans by completing an enrollment form and providing documentation of eligibility and benefits loss; contact the Business Office for instructions.
