Your Chapter 78 Contributions:
Chapter 78, P.L. 2011 requires public employees and certain retirees to contribute a percentage of the premium cost for their health coverage. The percentage is based on salary range and coverage tier (e.g., single, parent/child, two adults, family). Employees are required to pay either the calculated percentage or 1.5 percent of salary, whichever is higher.

You can choose from a range of plans and premiums. Typically, the lower the premium cost, the lower your mandated contribution amount will be; consider this when choosing your plans during Open Enrollment.

Reminder: if your start date was on or after July 1, 2020, you must be enrolled in the New Jersey Educators Health Plan (NJEHP) or Garden State Plan (GSP) for medical and prescription coverage.
